Poha - Indian Morning Breakfast
Ingredients- for 4 persons
1. Poha (Mota Choora) - 4 handfuls
2. Potato 1no. Big cut in small dices
3. Onions 2nos. Medium
4. Green chillies 2nos. Slit
5. Curry leaves(optional)
6. Raai(Mustard seeds) 1 tsp
7. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
8. Coriander leaves for garnishing
9. Peanuts 15-20 nos.
10. Refined Oil/Ghee. 2 tablespoon
11. Saunf (Fennel Seeds) 1 tsp
12. Salt 1 tsp
13. Sugar 1 tsp
Method
Step 1. Wash the Choora with water ,drain all the water and let it soak for 10 minutes.
Step 2. Chop the onions finely.
Step 3. Add 1 tsp sugar ,and 1 tsp fennel seeds ( saunf) and 1/2 tsp salt to the soaked Choora.
Step4. Turn on the stove and put kadai on it, add oil/ghee to kadhai and heat it up for 1 minute
Step 5. Add the peanuts , fry them and take it out.
Step 6. In the same oil add mustard seeds,curry leaves(optional) and green chillies as tadka for 30 seconds then add chopped onions.
Step 7. Cook the onion on medium flame till it gets translucent don't make it brown.
Step 8. Add chopped potato, turmeric and 1/2 tsp salt and mix it well. Then cover the lid and cook the potatoes on low flame till it gets soft.
Step 9. Now add soaked Choora and fried peanuts and mix them well.
Step 10. Cover lid the lid and cook for 7-8 minutes on low flame. Also keep stirring and mixing to avoid any sticking of the ingredients to the kadai.
Step 11. Dish out the Poha and Garnish it with coriander leaves .You may also add lemon juice.
Your breakfast is ready . Enjoy the food and stay healthy.
