Tachos - The Indian Way

Ingredients

For Dough

1. Makke Ka atta ( Corn Flour) 1 Cup
2. All purpose flour ( Maida) 1/2 Cup
3. Turmeric 1/4 TSP
4. Asafoetida 1/4 TSP
5. Salt to taste
6. Kasoori methi 1 TSP
7. Refined oil 1 Tbsp

For Stuffing
 
1. Medium sized boiled potatoes -5 nos. cut into small pieces.
2. Refined oil- 2 Tbsp
3. Fennel seed - 1 TSP
4. Mustard seeds (Raai)- 1 TSP
5. Green chilli- 2 nos. Chopped
6. A pinch of Turmeric
7. Salt to taste
8. Red chili powder-1/2 TSP
9. Lemon juice-1/2 lemon
10. Coriander leaves chopped

Preparation of Dough
 
 Step 1: Take a bowl mix all ingredients mentioned above for Dough
Step 2: Make dough by using water the same way you make for chapatis
 


Preparation of Stuffing

Step 1: Turn on the stove, put a pan on it and add refined oil.
Step 2: When oil gets heated add fennel seeds and mustard seeds.
Step 3: As soon as the seeds start crackling add boiled potatoes to it and mix it well.
Step 4 : Add salt, red chili powder, Turmeric and chopped green chillies. Mix them well and saute for 5 minutes.
Step 5: After 5 minutes, turn off the flame, add lemon juice and coriander leaves. Then stir it well.
 
Making Tachos

Step 1: Take a piece from dough and roll it like chapati
Step 2: Cut small circular portions from that rolled chapati
Step 3: Pierce those circular portions using fork 
Step 4: Turn on the gas, put a pan on it and add oil. Let the oil heat up.
Step 5: When oil gets heated fry those circular portions of the dough till it get golden brown.After that ladle it out. Repeat the same with other circular portions.
Step 6: Now hold the party roll in one hand and take fried portions in other hand by using paper tissue.
Step 7: Now roll those fried portions over the pastry rolls as shown in the pic.
Step 8: Now fill the stuffing in the space of the fried portions and add mayonnaise or tomato ketchup or vegetables etc.
 

Tachos are ready .
Need not to go to the restaurant you can have the fun of Tachos at your home now ...
