Makhaana (Foxnut) Kheer (Pudding)
On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, I am presenting a sweet dish which can also be taken along with falaahaar and other vrat food. It is easy to cook and takes less time. So let's start the preparation.
Ingredients
1. Makhaana (Fox Nuts) - 2 Cup
2. Full cream Milk- 1 litre
3. Sugar as per taste
4. Green Cardamom powder- 1 tsp
5. Few Threads of saffron soaked very little amount of milk.
6. Mixed Dry fruits( Cashew,almond, pistachio,chironji, kismis etc.)
7. Desi Ghee 2 tbsp
Method
Step 1: Turn on the stove , put a frying pan on it . Add 1 tbsp ghee and all Makhana. Keep stir the Makhana on low flame till it turns crunchy. It will take only 3-4 minutes.Turn off the flame. After that take this out in a separate plate.
Step 2: Keep 10-15 nos. Of Makhanas (Foxnuts) aside and Grind rest of the Makhanas in grinder coarsely.
Step 3: Now turn on the stove keep the flame low and in the same pan fry Cashew and almond with 1 tbsp ghee for 2 minutes. After that turn off the flame and take out them in the separate plate.
Step 4. Now chop fried cashew almonds and other dry fruits.
Step 5: Turn on the stove and keep the flame medium. In the same pan add the milk and keep cooking it till the quantity of the milk gets half.
Step 6: Then add soaked saffrons ,ground makhanas, Sugar in the milk.
Step7: Keep cooking on low- medium flame for 7-8 minutes.
Step 8: Now add some chopped dry fruits and mix it well.
Step 9: Now turn off the flame.
Makhaana(Fox Nut) Kheer (Pudding) is ready.
